Remembering Victims

Throughout the year, MADD offices across the country host candlelight vigils to  honor and remember those killed by the crime of drunk driving. Attendees span all ages and all walks of life – mothers, fathers, sisters, brothers, friends, neighbors, coworkers…the list goes on and on.

The most heartbreaking part of this is that this list doesn’t end; the list of people affected by drunk driving grows daily. At MADD, we will never stop fighting to end drunk driving. But in doing so, we also will take every opportunity to honor and remember the victims. This is why we hold candlelight vigils – to offer those affected an opportunity to honor the memories of their loved ones and at the same time, to provide the community a sobering reminder of the life-changing, deadly effects of drunk driving.

It is our honor to host these truly unforgettable vigils, and we are honored that victims give us the opportunity to remember their loved ones with them.
