Mothers Against Drunk Driving needs your help to advance lifesaving legislation HF 624 that closes loopholes in Iowa’s driving law.

How HF 624 closes drunk driving law loopholes? Iowa is one of 34 states that require ignition interlocks for all convicted drunk drivers in order to drive during a license suspension. However, first-time offenders can wait-out the interlock order and choose not to drive. Among other provisions, HF 624 eliminates the wait-out option and makes all first offenders use an interlock in order to obtain an unrestricted license. HF 624 will save lives. According to the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety, laws like HF 624 reduce drunk driving deaths by 16%.
