Beautiful Day for Middle TN Walk Like MADD

Over 100 people participated in the Middle Tennessee Walk Like MADD at Centennial Park in Nashville on October 19, 2019. There were 26 teams taking part including several in honor of victims of impaired driving, law enforcement partner teams, and corporate/individual teams. Our Top Friends and Family Team was Team Millie, Lori, and Mitch. They were led by this year’s Top Fundraiser, Millie Webb who raised over $4,000!

This year’s Top Law Enforcement Team was the Tennessee Highway Patrol giving them the right to claim the Law Enforcement Travelling Trophy. They were walking in honor of Sgt. Vincent Turocy who had served as the team’s captain for the last several years and is MADD’s Law Enforcement Chair helping to coordinate the annual Night of Remembrance and Awards Ceremony. In January 2019, while on patrol, Sgt. Turocy was hit and seriously injured by an alleged impaired driver with a .191 BAC.

This event would not have been possible without the support of our Gold Partner, State Farm and Friends of MADD: Tennessee Alcoholic Beverage Commission, Morrison and Barnes Law, and Vanderbilt University Medical Center.
