MADD’s seasonal high school prevention programs are designed to reach students during two of the most high-energy, high-risk times of the school year, Homecoming and Prom. Using engaging presentations to educate teens on the dangers of underage substance use and impaired driving, programs like MADD Spirit and MADD’s Promposal promote safe, memorable celebrations and empower students to make healthy, substance-free choices.
MADD Spirit is a free and interactive presentation for high school students during one of the most spirited times of the school year – Homecoming. This intervention program educates students on the dangers of underage substance use and impaired driving, empowering them with alternatives to ensure they can get into the school spirit without substances.
MADD Spirit Homecoming Intervention Features:
Real-impactful stories from victims and survivors of impaired driving crashes and underage substance use consequences, grounding students in the harsh reality of substance abuse.
Fatal Vision impairment goggles activity provides students the opportunity to see through the eyes of someone impaired by alcohol.
An opportunity to reinforce substance use prevention messaging as well as your school’s rules and code of conduct around substances at Homecoming events on school campus.
Alcohol Impairment Goggles
Fatal Vision Alcohol Impairment Goggles are a dynamic intervention tool within MADD’s underage substance use prevention programs, specifically through the MADD’s Promposal and MADD Spirit programs. Students are given a hands-on, immersive experience to understand the dangers of alcohol impairment in a safe, controlled environment. They simulate the visual effects of alcohol at different BAC levels, making the experience memorable and impactful.
