Tammy Duffy’s 18-year-old daughter Kaitlyn was killed in 2017 by a drunk and drugged furniture truck driver while she was driving home from an afternoon at the beach with her friends.

Since 2020, Tammy has served MADD Virginia as a victim speaker, sharing Kaitlyn’s story primarily on the military bases in her region. She estimates that she has spoken to over 5,000 members of the military hoping to end impaired driving.

Tammy has a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing, and she has over 27 years of experience in hospital nursing. She now serves her community of Chesapeake, Virginia as a public health nurse. In her spare time, Tammy enjoys her two dogs, Teddy and Leia, cooking, gardening, and walking. Tammy is looking forward to being a MADD National Ambassador.
