MADD SC Underage Drinking Prevention Programs
MADD SC is gearing up for our underage drinking programs to activate during the next couple of months. With prom season, alcohol awareness month, and Power Talk 21 season coming up we anticipate having a great few months meeting students and parents sharing valuable and critical information on underage drinking. So far we are scheduled to be in areas such as Greenwood, Charleston, Newberry, and many more. If you are interested in having us be a part of your Prom events or Alcohol Awareness events please give us a call. We still have some dates available and would love to come to your area.
For Power Talk 21 we are doing things differently this year. Instead of focusing on one day, April 21st we have now expanded PowerTalk 21 to be the entire spring from March to May. We are excited that this PowerTalk 21 season will focus on the continued importance of parents taking advantage of all opportunities to reiterate family rules about underage drinking and using other drugs. Remember, PowerTalk 21 was never intended to be just about one day, but about starting a powerful conversation about an important topic, 21. Parents remember what you say matters and make a difference! Let MADD help you with the resources and information to have this ongoing conversation with your teen on alcohol and other drugs. Contact us if you would like more information and resources. You can also view our parent handbook and other resources at madd.org/powerofparents
Again if you would like for us to come to your area to share our Power of Parents or Power of Youth information with the teens and parents in your community please contact our program specialist, Ashley Merrick at [email protected] or 803.748.7333x 5254
