DALLAS – Today, Mothers Against Drunk Driving® (MADD) announced its 2021 partnership with Amica Insurance to bring hands-on, innovative, and informational underage drinking prevention programming to teens through MADD’s Power of You(th)© program.
This strategic partnership with Amica Insurance will further MADD’s work with teens, schools, and communities to empower youth to make smart and healthy choices, resist the pressure to drink or consume marijuana before age 21 and to never ride with someone who has consumed alcohol or other drugs.
MADD remains focused on tackling underage drinking, a problem that threatens the safety of teens and endangers communities. As a result of Amica Insurance’s dedication and commitment to safety on the nation’s roadways, this partnership will help empower a safer future for tomorrow’s drivers.
“We’re proud to partner with MADD in the ongoing effort to protect youth and make roads safer,” said Amica Chairman, President and CEO Robert A. DiMuccio. ”As an insurance company, we see firsthand the importance of safe driving practices, and we commend MADD for continuing this lifesaving work.”
MADD’s Power of You(th) program features interactive presentations delivered by certified facilitators to help youth explore the real, short- and long-term impacts of drinking underage, including how it damages their brains and the long-lasting social consequences. MADD also offers tools directly to teens to encourage them to use their power to keep themselves and their friends safe.
“MADD is honored that Amica Insurance is joining our fight to prevent underage drinking,” said MADD National President Helen Witty. “Underage drinking kills 4,300 teens a year. Together we will help our youth understand that the choices they make now can impact their safety, their health, and their future and can stay with them their entire lives. We believe that by getting today’s youth off to a good start, we are taking a giant step toward fulfilling our vision of a nation without drunk driving.”
