MADD & NFL partnership
MADD and the National Football League joined forces in 2010 to collaborate on player and employee programs, game-day initiatives, community relations, and awareness programs to promote MADD’s efforts to prevent drunk driving.
- MADD and the NFL remind fans to “play the Most Valuable Position in the NFL: the designated driver.” MADD volunteers attend select NFL football games and encourage fans to plan ahead and designate a non-drinking driver.
- MADD shares drunk and drugged driving victim stories with NFL teams across the league to educate their players and staff about the impact and ripple effects of drunk and drugged and drugged driving.
- The National Football League also has endorsed MADD’s Campaign to Eliminate Drunk Driving®. NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell has stated, “We are pleased to endorse MADD’s Campaign and further build upon our partnership to do everything we can to warn players, team personnel and fans about the dangers of drunk and drugged driving. We have made progress but have more work to do to ensure that everyone associated with the NFL makes safe, responsible decisions and never drives or rides impaired.”
