March 2023 Officer of the Month
Corporal Philip Sumrow
Jesup Police Department, Georgia
Madd proudly recognizes Corporal Philip Sumrow of the Jesup Police Department as our Officer of the Month for March 2023. Corporal Sumrow has been with the Jesup Police Department for five years. He has a passion for traffic safety, impaired driving enforcement and education.
Corporal Sumrow has made DUI enforcement a priority in the City of Jesup. He is currently assigned to the Jesup Police Department Traffic Team. Corporal Sumrow is very dedicated to working traffic and getting impaired drivers off the roadway. He made 64 DUI arrests in 2022.
Corporal Sumrow and K9 Yale also assisted the Jesup/Wayne County Tactical Narcotics Team with two significant drug investigations this year. The investigations resulted in nine pounds of methamphetamine being taken off the streets. MADD National is proud to recognize Corporal Philip Sumrow as the March 2023 Officer of the Month. We thank him for his dedicated service to the citizen of Jesup and the State of Georgia. We wish him the best in safety and wellness in the remaining years of his career and service.
