Mr. Zuby is retired from 38 years working in vehicle and road safety. At the time of his retirement he held the positions of Executive Vice President and Chief Research Officer of the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety, an independent, non-profit research and communications organization wholly supported by automobile insurance companies and dedicated to reducing vehicle crashes and the deaths, injuries and property damage that result from them. He was instrumental to the development of research and testing programs at IIHS’s Vehicle Research Center since it began operations in 1993 as well as the VRC’s expansion in 2015.

Prior to joining the Institute in 1993, David worked at the TRC Ohio supporting the work of the Vehicle Research and Test Center of the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, which is located at TRC Ohio. He holds a degree in Biomedical Engineering from Northwestern University and resides in Albemarle County Virginia.
