Every day, impaired driving shatters lives. In 2022 alone, more than 12,270 people across the U.S. lost their lives to alcohol-related crashes, including 37 in Hawaii—accounting for 31% of all traffic fatalities on our islands. And the heartbreaking reality? Every 79 seconds, someone is killed or injured by a drunk driver. But together, we can change these statistics.

Walk Like MADD is more than just a walk—it’s a movement. This family-friendly 5K event, happening on Saturday, September 13, 2025, at Kaka’ako Waterfront Park, is our single largest fundraiser of the year. It powers MADD Hawaii’s vital programs, including:

-Supporting victims and their families through life’s most challenging moments,

-Educating the community on the dangers of impaired driving,

-Partnering with law enforcement to enhance safety, and

-Advocating for better laws and innovative technologies to prevent impaired driving.

This event is a space of hope and healing, where survivors and victims’ families unite to honor their loved ones, share their stories, and inspire change.
