In Honor Of...

Wesley Adam McClaine

A drunk driver changed my life forever. My only son Wesley was killed by a drunk driver July 24th 2021, 13 days after his 35th birthday. Wesley's laugh was contagious. He would help anyone. I miss his big bear hugs. I'm so thankful that he sent me a picture of himself that morning, I cherish that picture. Wesley was baptized on Father's Day that year, he turned his life over to The Lord. He struggled with addiction for many years. Now he was clean. Wes loved when we came and took him for lunch and spent time with him, we would talk about all kinds of things. His dreams and hopes of his future. He would say that he's getting old, in 5 years he'd be 40 years old. This year Wes would have been 40 years old. Forever to be 35 years old. He would tell us jokes to make us laugh. I'd always make sure to get him ice cream too, his favorite. We have so many memories. The morning he was killed, I messaged him that's when he sent me the picture and wrote out a message, he was working on the church he was going to so he couldn't talk on the phone at that time. This was preventable! If people want to drink then stay where you are! Don't drink and drive! The guy that killed Wes didn't go to jail. He goes to college so they put a device in his car to prevent him from driving drunk. We received a life sentence. Please think before you drink and drive. You might change someone's life forever in the worst way.
