MADD SC Welcomes Amy Landers May to Team
MADD South Carolina is excited to introduce Amy Landers May as the newest member of our staff team as the new Court Monitoring Specialist for the coast. Amy will head up our recently received court monitoring grant that will focus on tracking misdemeanor DUI cases in Berkeley, Charleston, and Horry Counties. She started with MADD on November 2nd.
Amy is a native of Columbia. She practiced law in the areas of Real Estate, Non-Profit Advising, Small Business Counsel, Bank Counsel, Estate Planning, Probate, Special Needs and Elder Law from 2001 to 2014.
Amy earned her Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Lander University in Greenwood, SC in 1998 and her Juris Doctor from the Walter F. George School of Law at Mercer University in Macon, GA in 2001. She became licensed to practice in the Supreme Court of South Carolina in 2001 and during her practice she was a Certified Circuit Court Mediator and an Accredited Attorney to practice in front of the Veteran’s Administration.
Throughout her professional career Amy served as a director on numerous non-profit Boards including the Palmetto Health Foundation, South Carolina Bar Foundation Board, South Carolina Chapter of the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys, Lander University Alumni Association Board, South Carolina Federation of Business and Professional Women’s Clubs. Inc., South Carolina Gerontogical Society and the CM Tucker Citizens Advisory Board. She has since moved to Charleston with her twin boys—Finnegan and Landon—and sought a career using her legal experience in the non-profit area.
