Governor McMaster Declares Designated Driver Appreciation Week

MADD South Carolina and Governor Henry McMaster have declared December 11th through 17th as the state’s first Designated Driver Appreciation Week Presented by the Law Office of Kenneth Berger.   Designated Driver Appreciation Week (#DDAWSC22 on social media) is held in conjunction with the 36th year of  MADD’s annual Tie One On For Safety campaign that runs from Thanksgiving to New Year’s Day.

MADD asks our state’s restaurants to support DDAW by taking the opportunity to thank designated drivers, perhaps by creating and serving a tasty “mocktail” to designated drivers or to make their sodas, lemonades, etc. for these holiday MVPs at no cost.  Since MADD created the term more than 30 years ago, the important role that designated drivers play has never diminished and may be as important as ever as we’re seeing South Carolina traffic fatalities reach all time highs.

Restaurants anywhere in the state wanting to take part can let MADD SC know by using this link:  https://form.jotform.com/223173401308041  Participating establishments can get a customized social media graphic from MADD and a shout out on our own social media as we recognize those who want to be responsible this holiday season.

Check back here for a list of participating establishments.
