Three Weeks and Counting!

We have broken the one-month-to-go barrier! The Hawaii 2022 Walk Like MADD is shaping up nicely. Alex Otte, MADD National’s President, will attend and speak about her role at MADD. She is excited to meet everyone. Our goal is to have the most fun and best random prize giveaways this year – and we are on track!

The first 500 people to check in are guaranteed a Backpack Goodie Bag with coupons, discounts, and giveaways! All registrants are eligible to win awards and prizes including neighbor island staycations, spa and salon treatments, auto detailing services, restaurant and retail gift certificates, and more. We have a celebrity Emcee and DJ, and entertainment along the walk. A yummy cookie as a reward for completing the 5K walk.

Register now for MADD Hawaii’s signature non-competitive, family-friendly 5K fundraising walk. All funds raised will support MADD Hawaii’s programs that support our Campaign to Eliminate Drunk Driving®. Kaka’ako Waterfront Park on Saturday, September 17, 2022.

We’d like to take a moment to thank our lead sponsors – we couldn’t make this event so fun or successful without them.

Our title sponsor this year is First Hawaiian Bank. Bob Harrison, the bank’s CEO and President was on HI Now this past week with Lori Harrison, the walk chair. First Hawaiian Bank has been a supporter of MADD Hawaii for many years. Their commitment to the community and our mutual goal of creating awareness about making good choices relating to impaired driving is greatly appreciated. Par Hawaii, a new sponsor this year, is the parent organization for Hele and 76 gas stations and the NomNom convenient stores. They are also sponsoring our Tie One On for Safety this year. We are grateful to have them join us this year for the Walk.

Dr. Thomas and Mi Kosasa have been supporters as individuals or as part of their medical practice – Pacific In Vitro Fertilization Institute.  We thank them for their many years of support and look forward to seeing their team members again this year. We count them as our friends!

Anyone who has been to our walks in the past is familiar with this regular sponsor – Hawaii Electric. They have been the winner of the largest team many times and the sea of color easily demonstrates it as they wear their team shirts. Look for their Tips on Emergency Preparedness in your goodie bag this year.

We are so happy the team from Queen’s Health Systems agreed to staff the First Aid table again this year. Not only are we in good hands, but they also bring good cheer to the event. They were cracking us all up in 2019!

We have 16 additional sponsors listed on the Walk Like MADD registration and donation page. You can check them out when you go to register!
