ANNIVERSARY INFORMATION, ACTIVITIES and EVENTS

Special Tribute to Carol McNamee, MADD Hawaii Founder
Carol McNamee has made tremendous positive differences in the lives of many– from helping saving lives to serving victims and inspiring passionate and dedicated individuals who have devoted their precious time, sometimes for decades, to end the terrible scourge of impaired driving crashes. Enjoy a few snippets of the 40 years Carol fearlessly led MADD Hawaii with passion, determination, and sometimes the much-needed levity of humor. She is more than a leader and a pioneer; to many, she is a hero and to others, a lifelong friend.

Happy Anniversary MADD Hawaii
On the 40th Anniversary of MADD Hawaii’s founding, over 100 people gathered to commemorate 40 years of Saving Lives. Current and past board members and staff, victims, survivors and their families, victim service providers, elected officials, policy advocates, law enforcement officers and other traffic safety partners, as well as participants in the court system, joined together to honor those who have made a significant difference in the fight to prevent drunk and drugged driving and in furthering MADD’s mission in Hawaii.

40 Years of Saving Lives
For 40 Years, MADD Hawaii has been working tirelessly to help saving lives from the 100% preventable crime of impaired driving crashes. Through our victim services, public policy work, youth education, community communication campaigns, and fundraising Walks and Dashes events, we have made great progress. “Designate a Driver” is now a common and recognizable phrase, more youth are aware of the danger of drinking before the age of 21, and several laws have been passed that help keep drunk drivers off the road. Along with our first responder and traffic safety partners, we will persist in our effort until there are NO MORE VICTIMS.
