22nd Annual Golden Shield Honor Awards and Impaired Driving Enforcement Forum
The 22nd Annual Golden Shield Honor Awards celebrates the law enforcement officers and agencies, DUI prosecutors, and community advocates who make a real difference on Georgia’s roads every single day.
For the past 22 years, the Governor’s Office of Highway Safety has partnered with MADD Georgia to recognize the individuals who work tirelessly to keep our highways and communities safe. These are the men and women who respond to the crash scenes, investigate the cases, testify in courtrooms, and stand in the gap for victims and their families. Their commitment doesn’t end when a shift does. It carries into courtrooms, classrooms, and communities across our state.
Golden Shield is more than an awards program. It is a moment to pause and say thank you. It is an opportunity to shine a light on the partnerships that make our mission possible — to stop drunk driving, support victims of this violent crime, and prevent underage drinking. It is a reminder that the work is hard, but it matters.
Impaired Driving Enforcement Forum (8:00am – 11:00am)
Held in conjunction with the awards, the Impaired Driving Forum provides an opportunity for continued learning, collaboration, and professional growth. Law enforcement officers, prosecutors, traffic safety professionals, and community partners come together to strengthen their skills, exchange ideas, and refine the strategies that keep our roads safe.
The forum highlights emerging trends, enforcement techniques, legal updates, prosecution strategies, and proven best practices in combating impaired driving. Just as importantly, it fosters meaningful connection — because preventing impaired driving is not a solo effort. It requires coordination, communication, and shared commitment.
By pairing education with recognition, the Golden Shield Honors and Impaired Driving Forum demonstrate our unified dedication to accountability, prevention, and ultimately, saving lives across Georgia.
Together, we honor those who lead.
Together, we strengthen our partnerships.
Together, we continue the work of ending impaired driving in Georgia.
