Jacquelyn Marushka, Tennessee State Advisory Board Member

Jacquelyn “Jackie” Marushka, officially joined the MADD Tennessee State Advisory Board in December 2019.  Formerly the General Manager of Shore Fire Media in Nashville and VP of Public Relations for Sony Music Entertainment, she currently is the President of Marushka Media, a boutique Public Relations and Branding agency which she founded in 2016.  Her company is the first and only Hispanic woman-owned PR company across the country music and Americana genres and supports clients in the entertainment and non-profit arenas with public relations and marketing campaigns.

 

Originally from Velarde, New Mexico, where she grew up, her ties to Mothers Against Drunk Driving are personal.  In 1996, Her grandfather, Miguel Martinez (Grandpa Mike), was on his way to tend to the family business in New Mexico when he was killed after being hit by a 7-time repeat offender. She now speaks as an advocate for drunk driving prevention.

 

She also serves on the Americana Music Association’s Board of Directors and on the Academy Awards (Oscars) Public Relations team.  She is a Leadership Music alumni, a member of The Recording Academy, Country Music Association, Academy of Country Music, American Association of Independent Music, the Tennessee Latin American Chamber of Commerce, and the Nashville Area Chamber of Commerce.   She is a Manduka Yoga global ambassador, as well as a founding board member of Small World Yoga, and helped start the Music City Yoga Festival.  In addition, she volunteers in a yoga program she started for youth at Monroe Harding children’s home.

 

She believes helping others become the best versions of themselves is not just a calling for her, but a blessing, and she lives each day rooted in gratitude and possibility.

 

She will serve as Public Relations Advisor for the MADD Tennessee State Advisory Board.
