DESCRIPTION:MADD Tennessee offers Online Victim/Survivor Support Groups for impaired driving victims whose crash was in Tennessee\, or whose crash was elsewhere\, but they live in Tennessee. \nThe online support group is a time of open sharing – though no one will ever be forced to share! Please join us as we grow as a community who supports one another deeply. \nThis month’s topic will be:\nNavigating Grief \n \nThe May 2021 group will be a Statewide Virtual Support Group held as follows: \nMay 10\, 2021 at 7pm ET/6pm CT \nThis will be a Tennessee Statewide support group.  Please contact Jami Wilson\, Victim Support Specialist at jami.wilson@madd.org (or 615-360-8055 x4756) to RSVP and obtain instructions to join. \n  \n  \n  \nNote: This meeting is a VICTIM Support Group intended to provide emotional support to those who have been negatively impacted by a drunk or drugged driving crash. It is NOT a meeting for DUI offenders (those who have been charged\, arrested\, or convicted of DUI or similar charges.) The class MADD offers for DUI offenders who have been court ordered to attend a class\, is called a Victim Impact Panel (VIP). You can click here to register online and/or find information regarding dates\, times\, and locations for MADD VIP classes across the state.

SUMMARY:May 2021 MADD National Injured Survivors Virtual Support Groups
DESCRIPTION:Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD) is proud to announce a new\, virtual\, monthly support group which offers a dedicated space for those that have been injured as a result of impaired driving. There will be two (2) support groups held each month to accommodate victims\, regardless of their geographical region. Starting on Tuesday\, May 18th at 6:30 pm (EST)\, and Thursday\, May 20th\, at 6:30 pm (PST)\, members of the MADD National Victim Services Advisory Board\, will facilitate monthly sessions to promote hope and healing for injured survivors. The MADD National Victim Services Advisory Board consists of MADD Victim Services Managers and Specialists from across the county (Please see flyer below to “meet” the facilitators).\n\nEach gathering aims to provide an important opportunity for participants to join\, listen\, share and offer coping strategies with others. The hope is that by being present\, attendees will be better able to process their “new normal” and make connections with other survivors who are at different points on their path. These meetings are no cost and participation is voluntary. We encourage those that are interested to sign-up so that they can interact with others who have been impacted while adjusting to life after the crash.
