Fort My<\/strong>ers, FL | April 23, 2018: <\/strong>Mothers Against Drunk Driving of Southwest Florida (MADD SWFL) is pleased to announce Goldstein, Buckley, Cechman, Rice & Purtz P.A. as the presenting sponsor of the third annual Walk Like MADD and 5K<\/a> to be held on September 29, 2018.<\/p>\n

Goldstein, Buckley, Cechman, Rice & Purtz Partner Christopher Smith states, \u201cWe are thrilled to partner with MADD and serve as the presenting sponsor of the Walk Like MADD and 5K<\/a>. MADD does vital work in our community to help prevent drunk driving and to give support to victims affected by drunk drivers.  The fund raising done in anticipation of the walk and 5k event funds much of that work so we want to help spread word of the event in the community and do our part by donating.  As your local Southwest Florida Personal Injury law firm, we, like MADD, work every day to fight for those injured or victimized by drunk driving so it only makes sense that we team up with MADD.\u201d<\/p>\n

This annual awareness and fundraising event<\/a> features a one-mile walk and five-kilometer USATF certified run ending on home plate at jetBlue Park at Fenway South in Fort Myers.  After the walk and run, the event has family and pet friendly activities as well as music and food from local celebrity chefs and restaurants.  Registration fees and other contributions directly benefit victims and survivors of drunk, drugged and substance-impaired driving crashes as well as funds MADD SWFL\u2019s free informational programs.<\/p>\n

Established in 2013, MADD SWFL provides free programs to over 15,000 people annually in the Southwest Florida community through its underage drinking prevention initiatives, its campaign to eliminate drunk driving, tie one on for safety campaign and DUI offender education.  In addition, the local MADD chapter supports law enforcement hosting an annual law enforcement recognition program and free DUI training benefiting over 300 local law enforcement professionals.  Most importantly, MADD SWFL supports victims and survivors of drunk, drugged and substance-impaired driving crashes; providing over 1,500 free services annually and facilitating grief and community groups as well as a tribute event.<\/p>\n
