Times TBD \nFriday night\, 6:15 pm – 8:30 pm:  Law Enforcement Recognition Dinner \nHow the Nominations Work \nAnyone can nominate anyone for a MADDY\, and we’ve made it very easy! Go to http://tinyurl.com/5xap7vpe. \nAll nominees are invited to attend the recognition dinner at MADD’s expense.  (Two seats for group/agency/organization categories.)  Guests are welcome and encouraged and tickets can be purchased for $45 when the nominee RSVPs for the dinner. All dinner reservations can be made at: https://fundraising.madd.org/event/MADDSCLER. \nWe’d love the whole family to be there to see their hero take home a MADDY!  All nominees will be recognized and receive an award at the dinner.  Just being nominated is an honor so please nominate anyone you think deserves the recognition\, not just if you think they will win. \nThere are detailed descriptions of each award on the nomination portal\, but here is the brief version. \n\nDUI Enforcement Hero of the Year\nDUI Enforcers of the Year (top 5 arrest totals for troopers and top 5 arrest total for local law enforcement)\nMillennium Achiever (1\,000+ career DUI/BUIs)\nDUI Enforcement Hero Agency of the Year\nDrug Recognition Expert of the Year\nMADD Compassionate HERO Award (for a first responder who went above and beyond in supporting crash victims)\nOutstanding Dedication to BUI Enforcement (individual)\nOutstanding Dedication to Underage Drinking Prevention by a SLED Alcohol Unit Agent\nBarry Barnette DUI Prosecutor of the Year\nOutstanding Alcohol Enforcement Team\nOutstanding Dedication to Underage Drinking Prevention (individual or community group/coalition—non-law enforcement)\nOutstanding DUI Prevention Communications Initiative (social media\, press events\, public campaign\, etc.)\nPower of (You)th Award (advocacy award for individual youth or youth group)\n\nAdditional awards not based on nominations will also be presented. \nTrainings \nKeep checking back for more information \nScholarships \nThanks to generous supporters\, MADD wants to help ensure that all nominees can attend\, even if their agency cannot afford to send them. DESCRIPTION:2025 MADD South Carolina Law Enforcement Recognition Dinner and Symposium \nOn Friday night\, March 7th\, at the Columbia Metropolitan Convention Center\, our fourth annual MADDY Awards will be given out to outstanding individuals and agencies for excellence in areas of DUI/BUI enforcement\, underage drinking prevention\, and other contributions to MADD’s mission. To nominate someone for this honor\, please go to:  \nhttps://tinyurl.com/maddscler \nNominations are due by January 24th\, 2025 \nAll nominees will be invited to attend the recognition dinner and will be recognized.  (One invitation for individual nominees; two for group nominees).  Those awarded a MADDY will receive a trophy at the event.  Nominees will be contacted with information on how to RSVP for the dinner.  Some scholarships will be available to cover the hotel room cost if an agency is unable to send someone for that reason.   \nTrainings for law enforcement will be offered on Friday\, March 7th before the dinner.
