SUMMARY:Bay Area/Fresno County Law Enforcement Recognition Event
DESCRIPTION:Due to the uncertainty of COVID19 we have changed the Law Enforcement Hero Awards to a virtual event\nIn the interest of recognizing and honoring 2021 Law Enforcement Officers for their continuous efforts in DUI enforcement\, we are presenting the 2021 MADD Law Enforcement Recognition Events virtually. The impact of impaired driving goes far beyond the crash itself\, sending shock waves through families. Law enforcement officials understand fully the hurt and pain from these horrific crashes\, and in their efforts to prevent another life from being taken at the hands of an impaired driver\, MADD supports them for protecting families. It is with this sentiment that MADD sees these officials as heroes.  \nThe event will be LIVE STREAMED\nTuesday\, June 22 at 10:00am \nREGISTRATION FOR A WATCH PARTY WILL OPEN SOON.\nCheck in here for updates\n \nAward Criteria and Application Information\nAll agencies MUST register their officer’s information no later than April 28\, 2021. We will not accept late submissions. \nAll Officers and Deputies with 50 or more DUI arrests for 2020 will receive a 23152 pin. \nIf your department does not have someone with at least 50 DUI arrests\, your top arresting Officer/Deputy will receive a 23152 pin. \nOutstanding Service Award: Awarded to officers who have made a difference in the last year by going above and beyond in the area(s) of education\, prevention\, policy or enforcement and whose efforts are making an impact in reducing alcohol-related death and injury. \nOutstanding Rookie Award: Awarded to rookie officers who have gone above and beyond the call of duty to reduce alcohol-related death and injury. Each year\, MADD acknowledges the efforts of law enforcement personnel for their annual arrests of impaired driving arrests\, alongside first responders\, prosecutors\, probation officers\, and MADD volunteers for their life-saving endeavors. Removing impaired drivers from the road potentially saves lives\, and we invite you to join us in honoring these heroes nationwide by supporting the 2025 MADD Law Enforcement\, Prosecutor and Recognition Awards Ceremonies. \nIn 2024\, MADD Sacramento recognized over 250 law enforcement officers\, prosecutors\, first responders\, and community groups for their unwavering commitment to impaired driving enforcement and prosecution. WE CANNOT ACCEPT LATE SUBMISSIONS \nNomination link: 2025 Law Enforcement Recognition Event Nominations \nMADD Award – All officers and deputies with 25 or more DUI arrests will receive a 23152 pin.  If your department does not have someone with at least 25 DUI arrests\, you can nominate your top arresting officer/deputy for one pin. \nBUI Arrests –  Please submit your marine officers who patrol the waterways with 12 or more BUI arrests. If your agency does not have anyone at this number\, please nominate the top arresting officer/deputy with BUI arrests for one pin. \nOutstanding Officer – MADD will award an officer who has made a difference in the last year by going above and beyond in the area(s) of education\, prevention\, policy\, and/or enforcement and whose efforts impact reducing alcohol-related death or injury.  Rookies may qualify. Please submit a summary describing the officer’s outstanding service below.  You will be able to attach supporting documents.  PHOTO IS REQUIRED and can be attached when you complete your nomination.  Only one nominee will be selected by event committee. \nOutstanding Prosecutor – MADD is honoring prosecutors (felony and misdemeanor) who have shown their impressive dedication to saving lives on California’s roadways through exemplary prosecution of impaired drivers and by working to eliminate drunk\, drugged\, and substance-impaired driving\, supporting the victims of these violent crimes or preventing underage drinking. Please submit a summary describing the outstanding service below. you will be able to attach supporting documents. PHOTO IS REQUIRED and can be attached when you complete your nomination. \nOutstanding Probation – MADD is seeking nominations for a probation officer or agency that has made significant contributions towards eliminating impaired drivers from California roadways through enforcement methods\, education\, and/or prevention work in 2024 while working with DUI probation offenders. Please submit a summary describing the outstanding service below. you will be able to attach supporting documents. PHOTO IS REQUIRED and can be attached when you complete your nomination. \nCommunity Champion – MADD will award those who have gone above and beyond in the area(s) of education\, prevention\, policy\, social media and/or enforcement and whose efforts impact reducing underage drinking and/or alcohol-related death or injury. Please submit a summary describing the nominee’s outstanding service.  You will be able to attach supporting documents.
