SUMMARY:MADD Legislative Press Event
DESCRIPTION:MADD National President Colleen Sheehey-Church will be speaking at MADD Rhode Island’s legislative press event at the State House to announce its legislative initiatives in Rhode Island for 2018 and beyond on March 20 at 3 p.m. in the State House Rotunda. \nThe media and the public are invited to attend. Representatives of the organization\, drunk driving victims\, a representative from the Attorney General’s office\, community leaders and some of MADD’s community partners will be speaking briefly about the importance of the initiatives. \nSome of the legislation being highlighted are those sponsored by the Attorney General’s Office\, as well as increasing penalties for Child Endangerment as it pertains to DUI. Other legislative initiatives being advocated are those in line with the planks of MADD’s Campaign to Eliminate Drunk Driving including enhancing Ignition Interlock laws in the Ocean State\, Sobriety Checkpoints and Administrative License Revocation.

SUMMARY:35th Annual Candlelight Vigil
DESCRIPTION:Please join us  on December 7 as we pay tribute to loved ones killed or injured by impaired driving with an evening of music\, guest speakers\, and a video tribute. \n  \nWe invite each victim family to participate by speaking their loved one’s name during this moving candlelight observance. \n  \nLight refreshments will be served  following the evening’s vigil. \n  \nThis year the vigil will be held at Kickemuit Middle School at 525 Child Street\, Warren\, RI 02885 at 7 p.m. and hosted by  Mount Hope High School and \nMADD Rhode Island. \n  \n401-421-0800 \nBrian.arenella@madd.org \n

DESCRIPTION:JOIN US FOR OUR STRIKE OUT DRUNK DRIVING BOWLING TOURNAMENT AND MEDIA EVENT TO KICKOFF THE HOLIDAY SEASON\nNovember 18\, 2017\nEast Providence\nhttp://bit.ly/2rYN7JK\nJoin MADD for a friends and family fundraiser to benefit MADD’s victim service and youth programs on November 18\, 2017 at East Providence Lanes from 1-3 p.m. with a media event at 12:30 pm. Teams of four or five can register for $20 each for adults or $10 for those under 12. The price incluses bowling\, shoes\, food and refreshments. \nThere also will be a raffle with many great prizes as well as a prize for the winning team.
