DESCRIPTION:Duke NROTC is proud to present the 2018 Carrie Shoemaker Memorial 5k Race!  Each year they make a donation to Mothers Against Drunk Driving in honor of Carrie Shoemaker.  Carrie was commissioned as a Naval Officer in 2000 through their program\, graduating with a B.S.E.  She was tragically struck and killed by a drunk driver in 2001. With the support of the Shoemaker family\, Duke students and alumni\, and the Durham community\, we are able to continue this memorial race each year and remember the life of Carrie.
