Victims must not be forgotten in the judicial system and in our society.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>This week, we support victims of crimes and encourage our community to do the same during National Crime Victims&#8217; Rights Week. This week marks the 40<sup>th<\/sup> anniversary of National Crime Victims&#8217; Rights Week and is commemorated April 18 \u2013 24, 2021.<\/p>\n<p><strong>What is National Crime Victims&#8217; Rights Week?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>National Crime Victims&#8217; Rights Week is a time to remember crime victims and survivors, acknowledge the achievement of victim services, and honor those who have committed to serving victims of crime.<\/p>\n<p>The Office for Victims of Crime leads communities every April to observe National Crime Victims&#8217; Rights Week. This year&#8217;s theme is <em>Support Victims. Build Trust. Engage Communities. <\/em>It emphasizes the importance of leveraging community support to help crime victims.<\/p>\n<p>The <a class=\"text-red\" href=\"https:\/\/ovc.ojp.gov\/ncvrw2021\/overview\">Resource Guide<\/a> provides a number of outreach tools and sample materials to help with the awareness campaign and integrating the theme into your own message to the community. It includes sample materials for traditional media outlets and social media, artwork, and a history of the crime victims&#8217; rights movement.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Ways to Get Involved<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>You can help raise awareness about victims&#8217; rights and services, highlight special programs, and honor victims through various initiatives throughout the week.
