Julie Maldonado or better known to her friends as the Puerto Rican Barbie was a powerful soul. A strong woman with a heart bigger than anyone you know. Anyone who ever met her, even once, remembers her name, sparkling eyes, enchanting smile, and beautifully wild laugh. She was life and light. Always smiling despite any bad thing that happened to her. She was fearless, you know when you think of someone as almost immortal, yeah that was her. My beautiful, wonderful, adventurous mother’s life was taken in August this year. The drunk driver ran a red light and hit her while she was on her motorcycle and left her for dead in the road. He tried to flee the scene, seen by multiple bystanders hurriedly trying to hide his damaged bumper in the car. Once apprehended he proceeded to say my mother hit him and he was worried about his car and when he would be able to go home. It is stated by police on the scene that he did not ask about my mother’s wellbeing once.
