
Walk Like MADD Registration Instructions
Go to http://support.madd.org/denver.
- Click on the red “PARTICIPATE” button near the top of the page.
On the next screen, you should see a page with three button options:

- Team Captains—To form a new team, click on the red “FORM A TEAM” button.
- Team Members—To join an existing team, select “JOIN A TEAM.”
- Individual Participants—If you do not wish to start or join a team, please select “INDIVIDUAL.”
- Individual participants with be automatically directed to Step 2.
- Step 1: Join or form a team.
- To start a team:
- Create a team name, fill in team company (if applicable), select team division, and set your team fundraising goal.
- As the creator of a new team, you are deemed captain by default. If you would like to designate a different captain, please email Fran Lanzer at francis.lanzer@madd.org.
- Click on “Next Step” to advance.
- To join a team:
- For a list of all teams, click the “Search for a Team” button leaving all the search fields blank.
- Select a team by clicking on the “Join” link on the right-hand side of the team list.
- Step 2: Select participation options.
- Select if you would like to participate as a walker or virtual walker (for those who want to support Walk Like MADD, but are unable to attend on the day of the walk).
- To kickstart your fundraising with a personal donation at this time, please select an amount or fill in the amount as an additional gift. If you do not wish to make a gift at this time, please select “No Additional Gift.”
- Set your individual fundraising goal.
- Click on “Next Step” to advance.
- Are you a new or returning user? If you have participated in Walk Like MADD before, please select returning user. You will be asked to enter your user name and password. If you are new to Walk Like MADD, please select new user.
- Step 3: Provide contact information.
- Please complete the registration form by filling in your contact information.
- New users: make sure you select a user id and a password (this is required to get the message to your all your contacts, track your team progress, upload your personal address book, etc…).
- Then click on “Next Step” to advance.
- Step 4: Complete your registration.
- New users will first be directed to a waiver screen. Please read the legal notice and then if you agree to the terms & conditions then click on the box below.
- Review the registration summary.
- If you wish to register another member of your household at this time, please click on “Register Family Member” on the bottom left of the screen.
- If you indicated that you wanted to make a gift at this time, please click “Next Step” to advance. You will have two additional steps to get your billing information and confirmation. Steps 5 and 6 will not appear if you did not choose to make a donation.
- To complete your registration, please click on “Complete Registration” on the bottom right of the screen.
- You should now be set up and ready to send your personal page to all your contacts so that they to can become part of the 2010 Walk Like MADD!

CREATE A PERSONAL PAGE WITH A PICTURE
Go to http://support.madd.org/denver.
On the Walk Like MADD home page, enter your user name and password in the top right-hand corner. After you have logged in, click on the “My Participant Center” link in the top right-hand corner, just under where you entered your login information.
Step 1: you may change the color scheme of the page by choosing a different option from the drop down menu
Step 2: edit the content of this page by clicking on the link in step 2
- Tell people why you are choosing to walk in Walk Like MADD by editing personalizing the default text on the personal change
- Add a picture by clicking the browse button to find an image stored on your computer
- Change the caption to suit your picture
Click the “Go to preview mode” button to see what the page will look like
Select the save my changes button and you are done!
TO SEND OUT EMAIL TO YOUR PERSONAL CONTACT LIST
You can use this feature to send out emails to recruit walkers for your team, solicit donations from friends, family & coworkers, and to send thank you messages and follow ups.

To import contacts from an existing list, click on “Import Contacts”

To import contacts from an online list (e.g. your personal email account), click on “Online Contacts”

If you don’t have a contact list to import, you can add the contacts individually using the “Add Contacts” button
SEND EMAIL TO RECRUIT WALKERS FOR YOUR TEAM

Click on the Email icon

Select an email message template or select “Compose your own email”

To select recipients, click on the person from the contact list on the right side. You may highlight more than one recipient. Click “Add Recipients” when you have highlighted everyone you wish to send the email to.

Once you have selected all the individuals and personalized your message, click the send button!
