2009 Walk Like MADD Registration Instructions

Walk Like MADD Registration Instructions
- Go to www.walklikemadd.org.
- Under the “Join A Walk” heading, select a city----Denver.
- Returning participants—click the red “Sign In” button to sign in. If you don’t remember your login and password and you can’t retrieve it using the webpage, please email Fran Lanzer at francis.lanzer@madd.org. Once you’re signed in, follow the directions below to register.
- New participants—select “Join an existing team” or “Form a new team.” for participants who are not part of a team, please select “Become a walker.” If you select “Become a walker,” please skip ahead to Step 2.
- Step 1: Join or Form a Team.
- If your team is already created:
- Scroll down to left hand column under Denver skyline and click on “Join an Existing Team.”
- Click the Search for a Team button leaving all the search fields blank.
- Select a team by clicking on the “Join” link on the right-hand side of the team list.
- If your team is not already created:
- Scroll down to left hand column under Denver skyline and click on “Form a New Team.”
- As the creator of a new team, you are deemed captain by default. If you would like to designate a different captain, please email Fran Lanzer at francis.lanzer@madd.org.
- Create a team name, fill in team company, select team division, and set your fundraising goal.
- Click on “Next Step” to advance.
- Step 2: Participate.
- Select if you would like to participate as a walker or virtual walker.
- To make a donation to your own page at this time, please fill in the amount as an additional gift.
- Set your team’s fundraising goal.
- Click on “Next Step” to advance.
- Step 3: Register.
- Please complete the registration form by filling in your contact information.
- Make sure you select a user id and a password (this is required to get the message to your all your contacts, track your team progress, upload your personal address book, etc…).
- Then click on “Next Step” to advance.
- Step 4: Waiver
- Read the legal notice and then if you agree to the terms & conditions then click on the box below.
- Then click “Next Step” to advance.
- If you indicated that you wanted to make a gift at this time, you will have two additional steps to get your billing information and confirmation. Steps 5 and 6 will not appear if you did not choose to make a donation.
- You should now be set up and ready to send your personal page to all your contacts so that they to can become part of the 2009 Walk Like MADD!
CREATE A PERSONAL PAGE WITH A PICTURE
- Go www.walklikemadd.org
- Select Denver from the list of cities
- On this front page, click to log into your Participant Center with the login and password you created when you created or joined your team
- Choose the personal page option by clicking on the “fingerprint” icon on your participant center
- Step 1: you may change the color scheme of the page by choosing a different option from the drop down menu
- Step 2: edit the content of this page by clicking on the link in step 2
- Tell people why you are choosing to walk in Walk Like MADD by editing personalizing the default text on the personal change
- Add a picture by clicking the browse button to find an image stored on your computer
- Change the caption to suit your picture
- Click the “Go to preview mode” button to see what the page will look like
- Select the save my changes button and you are done!
TO SEND OUT EMAIL TO YOUR PERSONAL CONTACT LIST
- You can use this feature to send out emails to recruit walkers for your team, solicit donations from friends, family & coworkers, and to send thank you messages and follow ups
- To import contacts from an existing list, click on “Import Contacts”
- To import contacts from an online list (e.g. your personal email account), click on “Online Contacts”
- If you don’t have a contact list to import, you can add the contacts individually using the “Add Contacts” button
SEND EMAIL TO RECRUIT WALKERS FOR YOUR TEAM
- Click on the Email icon
- Select an email message template or select “Compose your own email”
- To select recipients, click on the person from the contact list on the right side. You may highlight more than one recipient. Click “Add Recipients” when you have highlighted everyone you wish to send the email to.
- Once you have selected all the individuals and personalized your message, click the send button!
