In a continued effort to raise funds to stop drunk driving, support victims and prevent underage drinking, MADD developed a national signature fundraising event and public awareness program five years ago. These events are an opportunity for your company to reach a large number of walk participants and their supporters with your messaging and products.
The event is a 5K non-competitive walk targeted to families and corporations with large employee bases to raise funds through pledges. Various components will be added to the event to enhance activities before, during and after the walk. The walks will feature corporate and media sponsors.
In 2007, over 100,000 people participated as walkers, volunteers and/or donors, raising more than $1.2 million in individual pledges alone (about $1.8 million total). The goal for 2008 is to raise more than $2.1 million and have over 140,000 people directly involved.
MADD works closely with sponsors to leverage their visibility in communities and support their corporate objectives throughout the country. The walk features three national levels of corporate sponsorship: National Presenting, National Sponsor and Segment Sponsor.
